Shaher Awartani Co-Founds High Point Real Estate in Dubai With a Portfolio Valued at Over USD 100 Million
In 2017, Shaher Moh’d Ali Awartani moved beyond the construction sector by co-founding High Point Real Estate LLC in Dubai. The venture brought together some of the UAE’s most prominent institutional figures, including H.E. Yousif Al Otaiba, H.E. Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, and Mr. Ahmed Ismail Bashee. The partnership marked a shift in Awartani’s career from infrastructure contractor to investor operating across multiple sectors.
High Point Real Estate holds two premium residential properties in Dubai with a combined value of over USD 100 million. The portfolio sits in the luxury segment of the Dubai property market, where demand from international buyers and high-net-worth UAE residents has supported strong long-term values.
The Partnership Structure
The founding partners bring significant institutional weight to the venture. Yousif Al Otaiba serves as the UAE’s Ambassador to the United States. Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi is Deputy Group CEO of Mubadala Investment Company in Abu Dhabi. These connections place High Point within the broader network of UAE sovereign investment at the highest level.
For Awartani, whose construction business SCCB was already a fixture in Abu Dhabi’s development sector, the High Point partnership was a logical next step — putting capital into the asset class his company had spent decades building. It also strengthened his institutional relationships in ways that have carried value across his later investment activity.
Dubai’s Luxury Residential Market
Dubai’s premium residential market has held up through a number of economic cycles. After the disruption of 2020, the market recovered strongly, driven by international demand, a favourable tax environment, and Dubai’s growing appeal as a destination for high-net-worth individuals relocating from other parts of the world. High Point’s focus on the premium residential segment sits well within these demand conditions.
Construction Knowledge Applied to Property Investment
One feature that sets Awartani’s approach to real estate apart is the level of construction knowledge he brings to evaluating assets. Having overseen USD 1.35 billion in UAE construction projects, he assesses development quality, structural integrity, and cost-to-value relationships from direct operational experience rather than from financial analysis alone. Combined with the institutional capital and connections his co-investors bring, this gives High Point Real Estate a practical edge across deal sourcing, property management, and eventual exit planning.
