Red Sea Beach Resorts Power Rixos Egypt to Seven World Travel Awards Wins
HURGHADA, Egypt: The sun-soaked shores of the Red Sea took centre stage on the awards circuit this week, as Rixos Hotels Egypt collected seven honours at the World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony 2026. The ceremony was staged on 28 August 2026 in Zanzibar, Tanzania, where a clutch of the brand’s coastal properties were singled out for recognition.
The haul was led by the beach and water-based experiences that define holidays along Egypt’s eastern coastline. From family-friendly resorts to adults-only retreats, the winning list reads as a tour of the destinations that draw travellers to the Red Sea year after year. Rixos Hotels operates a portfolio spanning Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Alexandria, and each of those bases contributed to the tally.
A sweep built on sea, sand and sun
Several of the titles reward exactly the qualities that beachgoers prioritise. The Aqua Park at Rixos Premium Seagate was named the continent’s leading water park, while resorts in Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh were recognised for their all-inclusive stays, family facilities and beachfront settings. The full slate of wins is as follows:
- Africa’s Leading Water Park 2026, Aqua Park, Rixos Premium Seagate, Egypt
- Egypt’s Leading All-Inclusive Resort 2026, Rixos Sharm El Sheikh Adults Only 18+
- Egypt’s Leading Beach Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas
- Egypt’s Leading Family Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Seagate
- Egypt’s Leading Heritage Hotel 2026, Rixos Montaza Alexandria
- Egypt’s Leading Luxury Hotel Villa 2026, Premium Villa @ Club Prive by Rixos Sharm El Sheikh
- Egypt’s Leading Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas
Coastal identities from Hurghada to Alexandria
Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas proved the standout performer, taking both the leading beach resort and the leading resort titles in Egypt. Rixos Premium Seagate, meanwhile, secured recognition on two fronts of its own, claiming the family resort award alongside the water park honour for its Aqua Park. Sharm El Sheikh contributed the all-inclusive and luxury villa awards, and the Mediterranean city of Alexandria added a heritage accolade through Rixos Montaza Alexandria.
The results underline how central the Red Sea coastline has become to the country’s leisure travel appeal, with beachfront suites, water attractions and warm-weather escapes forming the backbone of the recognised experiences.
Reflecting on the results, Mr. Erkan Yildirim, Managing Director of Rixos Hotels Egypt, said:
“We are extremely proud to receive seven World Travel Awards. This recognition reflects the dedication of our teams and our continued commitment to delivering exceptional and memorable guest experiences. We sincerely thank our guests and partners for their trust and support.”
The awards arrive at a time of sustained interest in Egypt’s coastal resorts, where sunshine, sea and all-inclusive convenience continue to draw international visitors. Voting and category details for the ceremony are published by the World Travel Awards, which recognises leading names across the continent’s hospitality and travel sectors.
