Jordan Sets Stage for Major EU Investment Conference at the Dead Sea

Post by : Press Release on 27.03.2026

Jordan will host the Jordan–EU Investment Conference 2026 on 21 April at the Dead Sea. His Majesty King Abdullah II will serve as patron of the event. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will attend, joined by senior officials and investors from Europe and further afield.

The conference arrives as the surrounding region faces a period of considerable uncertainty. Jordan’s record of stability and its sound economic management make it a credible choice for investors looking for a secure base in the Middle East.

The event will present a defined set of projects across four sectors: water security, green energy, digital infrastructure, and strategic minerals. These sectors sit within the framework of Jordan’s Economic Modernisation Vision and are ready for investor engagement.

The €3 billion European financial package that backs the conference will be channelled through instruments designed to lower investment risk and support timely project delivery. The conference puts this package to work by connecting it to specific, bankable opportunities drawn from the Jordan–EU Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership.

Jordan’s trade network adds further weight to the offer. The country acts as a gateway connecting regional and international supply chains, with trade agreements in place across more than 140 markets.

Minister of Investment, Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, said: “The Conference is focused on presenting investors with clearly defined, executable opportunities that enable direct engagement in high-value projects within a stable and competitive business environment. It is designed to facilitate partnerships and translate opportunities into tangible investments.”

He added: “The Conference will serve as a results-oriented platform, featuring sector-specific tracks and structured business engagements, including B2B and G2B meetings, aimed at accelerating investment flows and strengthening private–public collaboration.”

EU Ambassador to Jordan, Pierre-Christophe Chatzizavas, highlighted: “We are proud to announce the EU-Jordan Investment Conference, a high-level event marked by the participation of Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. This signals the strength and resilience of our partnership, especially in times of regional uncertainty. The conference marks the start of a renewed, elevated collaboration that will bring our business communities closer together and unlock new opportunities, stimulating greater EU investment in Jordan’s dynamic economy.”

The choice to hold this conference now reflects Jordan’s steady confidence in its own course. Under His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Kingdom continues to build its credentials as a regional centre for investment and long-term economic growth.
